See you in Mendon!
Where Do We Enter? You can enter online from this website starting April 28. All entries received by May 28 are eligible for free t-shirt. Remember ALL entries can be changed, scratched, added to or altered the day of the show. Click here to enter online!
Entry Deadline? There isn't one! You can enter the day of the show. However, only entries received by May 28 are guaranteed a T-Shirt! Click here to see the details of our corporate sponsors!
What Breeds Can Show? All of them! If you bring them, we will have a show for them! Again this year we will also have the commercial breeding sheep division for crossbreds. No wethers. Funding for these breeds are provided from associations and breeders. Click here to visit our sponsorship page!
When Can Sheep Come? As early as Friday Morning and stay through 9:00 am Sunday Morning, however, you don't have to be there any day other than Saturday. You are free to leave as soon as your breed show is done, however, showmanship and the Supreme Drive are at the end of the day!
What time? Shows start at 8:00 am with showmanship and the Supreme Drive following the breed shows. There is an exhibitor meeting at 7:30 am where a group picture will be taken in exhibitor t-shirts.
Can I sponsor the show? Yes, we always need sponsors! Check out who else has sponsored the show on the Breeder Sponsorship Page. Give us a call or email for more information.
What classes are available? Yearlings, Fall lambs and spring lambs for both rams and ewe. Class splits are made as necessary, the day of the show. Hampshires and Southdowns are guaranteed January, February and March Ram and Ewe lamb class splits. Additional splits will be made as necessary. We try to limit class size to 20 head.
Slick Classes are offered for Hampshires and Dorsets. Slicked classes offered will be
Yearling ram, ram lambs, Yearling Ewes, and Spring ewe lambs.
Please note, all Southdown and Shropshires must be shown slick shorn per your breeds regulations.
What prizes are available? All breeds are different. Last year, over $15,000 was awarded and checks are written immediately following the show, so you have your money to take home! Additionally, everyone who enters by May 15 receives an official show T-Shirt, and there are raffles through-out the day for prizes ranging from magazine subscriptions to feed samples and more!
What are entry fees? Fees are $10/head. You do not pay until you come to the show, and you only pay for the number of animals you actually brought, regardless of what was entered.
Can I substitute or add entries? Yes, you can alter, add, or change entries the morning of the show.
How should sheep be registered? In the junior's name, a family name, farm name, etc. We just ask you to be reasonable and respectful. If you just purchased the sheep and do not have their papers yet, please provide us with a birth date so we know what class split the animal should end up in.
How old do I have to be? There is no minimum age requirement, we just ask people to be reasonable. Juniors cannot be over 21 as January 1 the year of the show.
Why is showmanship not on Friday evening? Our showmanship classes are judged only partially by what happens during the actual class. Our judges consider the shows throughout the day -- how the exhibitor responds in actual classes -- in determining their selections. If showmanship were moved to Friday evening the judges would have less data to determine a winner on.
Who do I call with further questions? Kacy Schniedermeyer at 636-295-6015 or email [email protected]. We are here to help!
We hope this is a first time show for many people, so call us with anything and we will help in every way possible!!
